We, too deployed a VPN for wireless using a Cisco VPN
product and are planning to use a second interface
for off-campus access for selected applications. It
authenticates to a back-end Radius server tied into
our LDAP configuration.

We had some difficulty getting the initial configuration
set up but its been pretty smooth since AFAIK. Our
network services group has had a couple "wireless
open houses" where interested parties bring their laptops
for installation support.
