Woodland-based Yolo Federal Credit Union is replacing credit and debit
cards for its members whose card information may have been breached.

In a warning letter to customers, the credit union said it was
notified by Visa that there was a possible breach of “multiple
merchant locations” and that there may be unauthorized access to
customer data files.

The credit union first warned of a breach May 31, and it sent out new
cards. On June 10, the credit union sent out another warning, and sent
out new cards, canceling existing cards.

Yolo did not identify the merchant that was compromised, and the
credit union didn’t respond to media inquiries.

With increasing breaches of merchants systems, many financial
institutions these days cancel and replace cards at the notice of a
breach.

With nearly $200 million in assets, Yolo FCU has more than 16,000 members.
