The breach involved a computer in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the Lincoln campus. The university's investigation revealed the computer had not been adequately secured, allowing unauthorized external access to the computer and its information. Associate Dean Deb Mullen said the information about students who graduated between 2002 and 2005 was used in a study intended to analyze the practices of school districts and what could be done to improve test performance.
