For those of you who haven't seen Tom Cruise's new "War of the
Worlds"...you missed nothing at all. It's hard to forgive the
Scientology poop inside the awful script. It's difficult to even
describe the ham acting and retarded (though true to the original)
plot. However, it's hard to ignore the fantastic way the movie
portrays the hacking landscape. Like Tom Cruise, the Internet found
that buried underneath civilization were strange and terrifying
creatures - hackers - who had weapons no one could protect themselves
against. They burned everything in their path and then essentially
dissipated. But of course, the question the movie doesn't answer is
what happens next. Do humans just continue on as they had before? Do
the aliens leave them alone forever? Or do the aliens come back with a
few shots of penicillin and finish the job?

I dunno, but if enough Scientologists bought tickets, then I'm sure we
will get to find out in War of the Worlds II.
