as well. From the comment in inetd.conf:
# Echo, discard, daytime, and chargen are used primarily for testing.


Alas, some routers use rdate to set their clock on boot.
daytime is still required in that case.  However, I agree
with you even to the point on killing off inetd on
exposed machines.
