Blocking MSN is not so simple. The client can be configured to
encapsulate the traffic in http packets to pass through a firewall that
blocks tcp access to port 1863.

In that case you need to force web traffic through a proxy that filters
messenger traffic. Usually that includes MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ and AIM. You
can use open source (squid + dansguardian) or commercial solutions to
perform URL filtering.

Hi, this could simply done with iptables (if you are using linux distro
;) ) by filtering the MSN TCP port 1863 or other for some web messenger.
