I'm not sure if GMail made any changes, but it could also be that you
changed your browser or updated its version.

This is a great article that talks about how encryption algorithms are
negotiated.

Firefox 3.0.5 and Opera 9.62 will select AES 256 if its available, and
IE will choose RC4 128

Hi

I noticed this about a month ago, we're no longer using 128-bit RC4,
but 256-bit AES!

Very good news, just wondering when this change occurred?

Was it when GMail stopped being beta, or after then?

If anyone has an exact date, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy
