There are lots of sites offering real neat preconfigured machines or 
vanilla machines.

Of course there is the VMWare appliances repository at:

On the left side of the main page you will see a block with links to 
many virtual machines related sites and you will also see a series of 
links to sites that offers Virtual Machines that are pre built.
