Advice on backup system.

Can anyone give me some advice on which backup system i should run?
Its for  a smaller network 30-40 boxes.

Key features im looking for is crossplatform
compability(linux/windows), it should be easy to manage, and it would
be great if it could write backups to disk, tape and CD.
