Could also have something to do with the file system.  If FAT32,
encryption using EFS is not possible.  What version of Vista are we
talking about?

I have a strange issue. On all folders/files on my Windows Vista system
the 
option
"Encrypt contents to secure data" is greyed out.
What is the remedy for this situation?
