J:

Why would Barracuda be excluded? the Barracuda that we use has both
Anti-spam and Anti-virus on the same box; and it's the second smallest
model they have.

Subject: email gateway appliance for antivirus and antispam for 3-5k?

I know this has been covered several ways over the years, but searching
my archives isn't bringing up what I need. Maybe some of you can help. I
want to purchase a hardware appliance to take the "Edge Transport" role
for my soon-to-be-installed E2K7 server. I want to know all the options
and narrow it down to three or four. So please share opinions and
experince on devices that meet the following requirements:

- Hardware only. I don't care if I have to install management software,
just don't want it on the server. I'm a big fan of decomposed
architecture.
- Anti-Spam AND Anti-Virus solution (excludes companies like Barracuda).

- Less than $5k for 3 years TCO. I don't care if the box is $3k or $5k
as long as maintenance and subscriptions keep the total under $5k.
- Anywhere from 25 to 100 user device is fine.

Possibilities so far (feel free to comment):
IronPort C100
Sophos ES1000
Fortinet Fortimail

Thanks in advance.
