Sounds like a typical security problem to me.  In the absence of clear unified outside guidance, I'd think the only 
solution is to work together to come to an agreement on countermeasures that are at a sensible level and that all can 
generally agree on.

If there are any specific details you disagree on as being too strong or not strong enough, we or others can give our 
two cents.
