What about Faronics DeepFreeze? http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp I have evaluated both the standard and enterprise versions and was pleasantly surprised.
I'll second a recommendation for DeepFreeze. While I haven't used it in a sandbox environment per se, I have been using it for the last couple of years on a public-access LAN to help keep the machines running sanely. DF has worked above and beyond what I originally thought it could do, and has essentially made the computers virtually maintenance-free (from a software standpoint at least).
