This thread has really moved off topic from computer security-related issues.

It is rather painful for me to see the list turned into a collection of posts with legalese and case studies, analogies and whatnot, when most of us enjoy the pure technical discussions here that are normally more void of opinion. Let's get back to the broad topic of securing one's systems and networks, and leave the legal side of things to the lawyers.

Insults don't need to use any profanity, and sometimes each of us wants to feel smarter than the other - but this serves no useful purpose, is bad etiquette for a public mailing list, and might mean your post gets rejected outright. This is not open for negotiation.

There are many smart people on this list, and some will never agree with each other about much of anything. Fine. But when the discussiion moves off-topic, consider the thread closed.
