As info sec mgr, I have seen that applied experience is the best certification. Don't be afraid of a security job just 
try to find one where you have a boss who can provide security industry guidance and leadership. If you have been in 
the IT industry for awhile you know that once you are in a working environment your book knowledge will come out when 
you are tasked to apply it on a day to day basis.
