Hi Ramki,

Linus is preferred, as you have a lot more userbility by using it.  
You're not locked in to what you can and can't
do. Since Linux is Open Source, you can modify the code to do what  
you want if you have the know how.
Also, it's free, no licensing costs, easy to write your own apps for,  
or even modify someone elses apps, legally.
