Not sure... I think I first heard it about 2-3 years back. I haven't done a bit of checking (it's late...), but did Checkpoint buy out Sygate? I know they aquired someone recently. Maybe it was ZA. I'm too tired to think. =P -- Peace. ~G On Fri, 17 Sep 2004 08:56:28 -0600, Mark Teicher <mht3 () earthlink net> wrote:
Interesting definition for "universal enforcement", I wonder if Checkpoint also trademarked the term ? It can also include an automated means for knowing a patch exists, downloading, and installing the patch(es). You can get a bit more info from TechTarget.com: http://tinyurl.com/5zbzx Whenever someone mentions "universal enforecement", I think of Sygate. (I they even trademarked the term. I first heard it in mass use from them.) A quick search on their website proved useful: http://www.sygate.com/products/universal_enforcement.htm I've always understood the term to mean "full, adaptable security coverage in any environment". Check out the link above for more info. Still want more information? I figure this would be the place to ask. What does automated patch management mean or universal enforcement mean? thanks /mht
