To me, "automated patch management" is a means for automating the
process of applying patches and updates to multiple (or a single)
systems. It can also include an automated means for knowing a patch
exists, downloading, and installing the patch(es). You can get a bit

Whenever someone mentions "universal enforecement", I think of Sygate.
(I they even trademarked the term. I first heard it in mass use from
them.) A quick search on their website proved useful:

understood the term to mean "full, adaptable security coverage in any
