Must-Have Administration Tools?

From: Andrew Smith <arse () somethingentertainment co uk>

I am considering putting a FreeBSD machine onto the internet and offering out free SSH accounts, mainly to give myself first hand experience at server administration.
I'm not new to BSD, but i'm no where near good at it,
so my question is are: What are the 'must have' have security/administration/monitoring/general tools or documents that i install or should read before doing so? I accept that my server could easily be 'cracked' during my its time connected to the internet, this does not particularly bother me, i just want to learn..

Thanks for any replies,

Andrew,
