I want to know if some tool is available for generating the Host-list in the LAN (nmap takes a long time for Class-A range.).
You can do this by using PERL, use the NET module which provides the ping function. You should tweak the code as per your needs by efficiently using the time_out value to speed up your stuff. http://www.perldoc.com/perl5.6/lib/Net/Ping.html NMAP should be also able to do the same stuff, maybe you aren't using the various options provided by the tool to your advantage.
