Hi, You could use What'sUp Gold but it can be quite pricey for 5000 pc's. What about freeware? NetworkView will show you a Visio-like graph and data on ports and services and devices for an ip range. Also you can filter the view by properties. Google it or email me off list to send it to you. Also you can use NMap in a Windows version. I like the one compliled by OpenExtra. It is a single file with everything you need to install NMap in a Win Machine. Hope that helps. --- On Mon 02/02, Moody, Chris < cmoody () qualcomm com > wrote: From: Moody, Chris [mailto: cmoody () qualcomm com] To: security-basics () securityfocus com Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2004 10:41:39 -0800 Subject: RE: Network discovery If you have SNMP setup correctly, you can use it to poll/probe
everything and it'a capabilities by walking the tree.

~C

-----Original Message-----
From: Nagy Gergely [mailto:gergely.nagy () is-energy hu]
Sent: Monday, February 02, 2004 12:42 AM
To: security-basics () securityfocus com
Subject: Network discovery

Hi all,

I would like to ask all of you, if you have every used a network
discovery
tool?
