RE: Personal Firewall for Business use

Personal firewalls are not free to use for a business so you would be
required to pay a license fee to use it. The internet connection
firewall provided with Win2k only stops services being accessed from the
outside and does not stop outgoing connections at least that is my
understanding. That could be a problem if you are using the server as a
gateway or for ICS. These days even a standalone firewall appliance, or
an old retired PC running Linux are great ways to secure your system
(both are cheap the second cheaper than the first and can also run an
IDS for those times you just wish you had been alerted to an attack
although most firewall appliances have built in email alerts) because to
me it seems you need to stop a hacker or worm getting near your server
in the first place instead of when they arrive and besides the more
obstacles you throw in the way of an intruder the less likely you are to
be compromised.

hi,

I need to install personal firewall on a win2000 server,

can you please recommend me with a good one,

and it would be great if someone supplied with a comparison table
between most popular personal firewalls, or a link that gives the same
thing.

Thanks and regards
