  Spammers often try to conceal the origin of their messages.
This usually includes inserting a fake name and address in 
the From: field.  Sometimes the fake address chosen is somebody's
REAL address.
  Most users who've been on line for more than a month or two
have learned that they cannot trust the From: header to correctly
report the source of a spam message.  There are various utilities,
such as http://www.spamcop.net, that will analyze other headers to
try to determine the actual origin (or at least the last open proxy
used).

  From what you've told us, it just sounds like some spammer picked
your address to insert in the From: field.  In some jurisdictions,
you may be able to sue them for that, but this is not (by itself) 
any indication that they have hacked into your server or otherwise
compromised your systems.
