I can second the recommendation of the "Hacking Exposed" series... I'm reading one now and literally cannot put the 
thing down.

        For Certs, try CISSP at www.isc2.org.  Additionally, I have found the
        Hacking Exposed series books to be invaluable during any of the 4 forensic
        events I have been involved in this year.
