Vineet,

The reason this is happening is because of your Gateway numeric order.

Each time you add in an IP on the adapter, and a new Gateway IP, then it
will increment +1 numeric for each Gateway. The highest ranking gateway will
be used first, have a look at the adapter settings and have a look at the
Gateway settings.

In answer to your questions, its not possible to pick and choose which
Gateway you wish to use, unless you write an application to use a different
numeric/search order listed gateway.

Regards, Richard

Subject: Multiple IP's (IP Aliasing)

I have 5 IP's on my server configured as IP alising with only one
Interface.

Whenever i make connection outside say for www, pop3, whatever, the main
IP is being used to make connections to the foreign server.

What if, i want to use other IP's (on my server) on my choice to make
outside connections?

Can this be done?? if yes then how?

One sol i think is that change the default eth0 Ip and use others as
aliases. but this requires manual steps.
