That may be true, how ever im sure there was a clause in there somewhere stating something to the effect of "Aspects of this policy are subject to change at any time, without notice" basically meaning its your responsibility to check for updates. an example of a TOS with a clause like this is my ISPs (Tampa RR) which you can find here http://www.rr.com/rros2/help/0,2023,34__6_ms,00.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brad Griffin" <b.griffin () cqu edu au> To: <VULN-DEV () SECURITYFOCUS COM> Sent: Monday, September 11, 2000 11:47 PM Subject: Re: All Advantage Spyware
Hi all. I had some experience with AA a while back. I read EULAs and TOS pages. The problem with AllAdvantage is that they updated their program a number of times, but did not inform their users of changes in the TOS relating to any new 'functionality' in the software.
The
earlier TOS agreement stated (if I recall correctly) that your AA
username,
pages visited, log-on and log-off times would be sent to AA. That was reasonable and allowed them to track your surfing habits. However, as I
said
above, as the spying capabilities of AA was developed, updates to the TOS were not announced to users downloading updates.
