Stefan Savage (http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/savage/) has come up with three attacks that will make any TCP-compliant server send you data arbitrarily fast, with no regard to other users. The paper is available at http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/savage/papers/CCR99.pdf, and there's currently an article on it at http://www.arstechnica.com/. Pretty neat stuff; I thought some of you might be interested. -l
