List, this paper explains how a compiler can eliminate from the final binary the pointer safety checks that are present in the source code: http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/~xi/papers/stack-sosp13.pdf The very first example it gives is equivalent to the contents of TTEST2 macro widely used in the source code of tcpdump. Even if subsequent 15 pages of the analysis don't apply, it may make sense to study the solutions the paper suggests. -- Denis Ovsienko _______________________________________________ tcpdump-workers mailing list tcpdump-workers () lists tcpdump org https://lists.sandelman.ca/mailman/listinfo/tcpdump-workers
