  If the EUI64 used in 1394 is like the one used in IPv6, then the
formula is something like:

        48-bit MAC, split into AA:XX:XX:YY:YY:YY

  EUI64 is:    ZZ:XX:XX:FF:FE:YY:YY:YY
               
  where ZZ = AA | 0x02 to indicate that this is a "globally unique"
EUI64. (I know the IPv6 documents have a better explanation)
