Hello, It sounds like you need to do one of three things: 1. Run snort inline Or 1. Span your network traffic so that it is copied to snort for inspection Or 1. Use a hub (if you could even find one) ☺ ☺ Your regular network switch wont send traffic destined for another host to your snort machine by default. And my topic is installing IDS with snort. Now I have a problem with my test . I used again a rule to detecting ping with protocol icmp. When I do a "ping" from a simple PC to snort there are an alert. But when I ping 2 PC another the routeur hosted snort there aren't any alert. Can you help me please what configuration can causes my problem and what is the solution of that.
