Re: precompiled so_rules for arm

If you got snort to compile on ARM, there shouldn't be anything in the SO
rules that give you any troubles. Just use the source code and the Makefile
in the rules distribution, set up the paths, and you should be good to go.

You can use the rules that we ship the code for, and try and compile
those on ARM (don’t know if it will work, we’ve never done it before that I
know of)

As far as pre-compiled rules, we have no roadmap for compiling the rules
on ARM at this time.

Following up on https://lists.snort.org/pipermail/snort-devel/2011-Septem
ber/008878.html, I've gotten snort compiled on my Raspberry PI 3,
downloaded the ruleset, but no "arm" platform exists for the precompiled
so_rules.

Please let me know what I need to do so that we can have these rules
available for those of us running snort on a PI or other arm-processored
appliance.

Thanks!
