Hi James,
    Here are the results:

ls -l snort
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8069820 Sep 3 12:50 snort

ldd snort
      not a dynamic executable

file snort
snort: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux
2.6.18, not stripped

uname -a
Linux #########.######.######.### 2.6.32-279.22.1.el6.i686 #1 SMP Wed Feb 6 00:31:03 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

The uname shows I'm using a 32 bit OS but somehow I compiled a 64bit snort? Is that possible?

Thanks,
Ed

Ya wow that's weird…file command says it uses libs, ldd says it doesn't…ODD. Snag the fresh source from the snort site
and try to compile…what configure options are you passing?

James
