Re: Cannot execute binary file

Hi James,
    Here are the results:

ls -l snort
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8069820 Sep  3 12:50 snort

ldd snort
        not a dynamic executable

file snort
snort: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 
2.6.18, not stripped

uname -a
Linux #########.######.######.### 2.6.32-279.22.1.el6.i686 #1 SMP Wed Feb 6 00:31:03 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

The uname shows I'm using a 32 bit OS but somehow I compiled a 64bit snort? Is that possible?
