problem in getting response from snort 3.0.0.a1.4

hi all
i have been using snort 3.0.0.a1.4. but i am unable to get any response on
it when  i generate  icmpv6 packets by using ping6 ::1 command.
please suggest me the best possible way to get the response for IPv6 packets
