Snort log no longer updating

I have had Snort 2.01 on Win32 running for a while now, along with
IDSCenter and snort-snarf. I back up the logs on a monthly basis so I
get a fresh monthly count.

The problem is that last month rolled over into this month and even
though snarf is updating (via a scheduled tasks and scripts) the
alert.ids file has not changed.

I have run Snort via IDSC and cmd-line with no errors ... it just
doesn't seem to be "snorting" anymore... I highly doubt we aren't
getting hit anymore.

One thing I am looking into is if the last rules update may have caused
any issue... other wise there has not been any core changes, other than
some OS hotfixes...
