Does anyone have the date Snort - Lightweight Intrusion Detection for Networks was written. There are several areas which talk about changes that are under development. It would be nice to know if these are changes which have already occured or not, ie. detection engine and a major overhaul.
Well, if you go to the old versions on Snort.org and snag the 0.96 tarball, the dates are 12-11-98. All in all, throw away whatever you think you know about Snort and check out 2.0. It's a _major_ change from the previous verions, and things work quite a bit quicker (18x speed in some cases). Cheers! ----- Erek Adams "When things get weird, the weird turn pro." H.S.
