snort w/mysql question

Currently, I am running snort and logging to /var/log/snort.  I know the advantages of a rdbms, but would like to know 
if there are any non-gui (okay, list the gui stuff too) scripts/programs that can generate reports (something like 
snortreport) from the mysql database.  Or do people running mysql still use /var/log/snort/alert and run reports from 
it?
