Alternative X86 Processors

Does anyone have any experience running Snort on X86 processors other than
Intel?  We're considering the National Geode, VIA C3/Eden, and Transmeta
Crusoe processors running on a small footprint system.  Has anyone used
these processors with Snort?  If so, what model/speed was the processor?
Were there any performance issues?  
 
Any information you can provide on pros and cons of processors you've used
will be greatly appreciated.
