Anyone using iODBC with Snort?

I'm wondering if anyone's tried using iODBC (http://www.iodbc.org/) 
with Snort instead of Unix ODBC. Does it work?

I've figured out how to hack Snort 1.8.7's configure script so it looks 
for "libiodbc" instead of "libodbc" and it seemed to build fine, no 
errors or anything. But I haven't tried it yet, and I was wondering if 
anyone else had...
