(FREEWARE)
Your competition, SMAC (MAC Address spoofer), has
the
ADDITIONAL capability of: - Automatically activating new MAC Address right
after you
change it. It shows the status as SMAC power cycle
the NIC
- Generate totally random MAC Address - Generate a random MAC address based on
manufacturer
- show manufacturer of NIC - Pre-load MAC Address into a list so you can choose
a MAC
Address to spoof - IPConfig button to verify the NIC status
recognized by the
Windows system. These are features that are useful for me as a
pentest guy.

Your reply suggests clearly that you didnt try the software. * In the software, clicking Apply Now button applys and activates MAC address instantly by enabling and disabling the NIC automatically. * After clicking Change button, an button '>>' is enabled, clicking on it a menu is displayed which has Generate Random MAC Address option, which generates random MAC address from the built-in list of manufacurers. * It clearly shows manufacturer of NIC, see the screen shot on the website http://www.technitium.com/software/mac_changer_v3.1/mac_changer_v3.1.html * When you click change button to edit MAC address, an drop down list with all manufacturer names and assigned numbers is displayed to choose from, for spoofing MAC address. * Finally, the IPConfig is not at all required (even to cross verify change in MAC addresS). After pressing Apply Now button, the NIC is enabled & disabled to apply new MAC address, and the Active MAC address field displays the new MAC address, which is read by calling directly IphlpApi.dll function, which the IPConfig.exe also refers to. If the Active MAC address didnt show new MAC address, just press F5, or select Refresh in options menu to refresh info in the NIC list box. Conclusion, Technitium MAC Address Changer v3.1 has all the functions which commercially available tools have, and is FREE too.
