That should work with the script I wrote. It doesn't make a connection - it
just checks that the device is seen.
I'll have to try the hcitool version that twitchy wrote. That might be
faster, and capturing the signal strength would be useful.

I'd imagine that these are class 2 or 3 so range should be low'ish.
Wonder if the antenna can be sabotaged to reduce the range even more.

I'll see if I can pick one up and do some testing after Shmoocon. If
you get your script and Nicks a go.
