who trusts google apps?

I only use the Calendar regularly. The rest of Google's services can be
replaced with individual services or apps for free or very low cost. I
haven't found anything else that syncs my calendar well enough to
abandon Google Calendar. BTW, I'm using a Treo w/ Goosync over the air.

For some reason, syncing contacts and address books is not that
important to the way I work. Otherwise I might have considered
uploading them to Gmail. As it is now, I don't feel compelled to use
more of Google even though I use other cloud-based services.

Hi
I'm thinking of getting a G1 phone and if I do I'll probably get drawn
into using google for more than just personal email. How many people
out there use/trust the google apps?

I like the idea of a centralised, on the net, in the cloud, blah blah
blah, service for all my stuff but at the same time I worry about
giving all my private information to google because I don't know what
they are going to do with it and also it has to be a very large and
tempting target for bad hackers.

Basically by paranoid head is in conflict with my efficiency head and
I need help deciding which one will win.
