Take a look at Astaro and Fortinet. Both are relatively inexpensive and solid products. The former is an x86 appliance running their own Linux distro, the latter is a purpose built appliance. Or you can roll your own with astaro or smoothwall ---- Raffi On Mar 6, 2009, at 8:40 AM, Stephen Reese <rsreese at gmail.com> wrote:
I'm looking for a SOHO router for a friends small business of about 20 nodes. They currently have a Cisco 1800 series but they aren't a fan of the CLI or SDM web interface so they're on the hunt for something else. The main issue is when there is a configuration problem the device is too complex for the average user to manipulate. They were previously using a Linksys product but found the phone support to be a little on the weak side. They would like to product to support VPN and two VLANS... Anyone use a 3com, Nortel, Adtran, Sonicwall or WatchGuard product and have a positive experience with the devices functionality and usability?
