Garrett, Thanks for the crash report. To correctly diagnose, we usually need the output (or crash report) of "nmap --version" and "nmap --iflist" as well as the OS you're using and any special hardware or network type you may have. The only known issue at the moment with Windows 8.1 is a problem in enumerating interfaces, so nmap --iflist and any scan will crash, but nmap --version ought to work just fine. This first showed up on Surface Pro 3 tablets, and has been fixed in development. Dan On Tue, Mar 24, 2015 at 5:59 PM, <harlowgarrett () gmail com> wrote:
Hello, my name is Garrett and I recently downloaded nmap to use on my computer. However, as soon as I try to run the program, as soon as I click scan after typing a command the program crashes. I have tried multiple commands and have completely reinstalled the program several times. I also tried using both the windows command prompt and the zenmap instances of the program, and they both result in nmap crashing as soon as I attempt to initiate a scan. I have read several other instances of this problem on both the nmap website as well as external message lists, however none of these threads contained a solution to the problem. I am running windows 8.1, just like all the other message forums were. I would appreciate it if you could figure out what is wrong and how I can fix it. Thank you. _______________________________________________ Sent through the dev mailing list https://nmap.org/mailman/listinfo/dev Archived at http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/
