Hi, I'm Rashmi Raghunandan, currently studying in 3rd year Computer Science in PESIT,Bangalore, India. I wish to apply for GSOC this year with the NMAP organization. The position I wish to apply for is as a ZENMAP GUI developer. I have downloaded the source code and have gone through it. I had quite of few design feature ideas which could improve the existing software. The basic of the ones I thought of were: 1. A percentage complete progress bar for scans. 2. Improve profile drop down so user can know and add more commands than those available now. Eg. a -O scan. 3. Allow group ip scans to be clustered together so as to differentiate from individual ip scans. 4.Allow a saved nmap scan( which now stores as an xml) to open in zenmap itself. This will be useful to view the details in the UI itself rather than an unfamiliar extension. These are just few of the ideas I had. While I have had some prior experience with python GUI, I am new to GTK. I plan to send in a few new design features in the coming days. I would really like to hear your opinion and feedback. Thank You.
