There are different categories of such "un-translatable" words:
- - as you said, "PDF, TTL" but also "IPv4" are *common language*
- - words like "scripting", "scan" are technical words that are used
as-it
in french. They have a "litteral" equivalent, but (french readers, this
is for you !) "écriture", "balayage" doesn't mean anything in a
technical context.

I totally agree with this. I've also checked the untranslated messages and I
think that they should stay untranslated.
