-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well, in fact it's on purpose : i've choosen not to translate some terms/words, as they technicaly have a meaning that is totaly lost when "litteraly" translated. Actually, translating those terms could lead to a kind of a "google-translated" flavor...If you see what i mean :) There are different categories of such "un-translatable" words: - - as you said, "PDF, TTL" but also "IPv4" are *common language* - - words like "scripting", "scan" are technical words that are used as-it in french. They have a "litteral" equivalent, but (french readers, this is for you !) "écriture", "balayage" doesn't mean anything in a technical context. "Vendor" was the only word that made me hesitate. It is meaningfully translatable, but in Nmap it deals with MAC addresses and in this case, french users also use the word "Vendor". I mean, they *associate* the notion of "MAC" with the associated word "Vendor". I can be wrong on this point, so french users: feel free to give me your point of view. In fact and in general: don't hesitate to mail me about those translations. I think that some of you (fr) would feel easier if discussing those points in french, privately. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.12 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkub3noACgkQ3aDTTO0ha7iSmQCdFxN+HI9T7juYSTeEB8v9pyad v2QAn0gZR1C6clkK79UY/tRnvNxhpkZA =1zLk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Sent through the nmap-dev mailing list http://cgi.insecure.org/mailman/listinfo/nmap-dev Archived at http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/
