I also have XP SP3 now and it still has the same problem. It is standard Windows CMD to allow commas to separate parameters - there is no override for this. I will have to run the nmap command as follows: nmap -sV -p "22,53,110,143,4564" 10.78.35.19 Kind Regards, Dennis Murray Project Consultant | Infrastructure Services As service provider for: Edcon Group IT office +27 (0)11 495 7247 | fax +27 (0)86 676 9031 | mobile +27 (0)83 289 7332 -----Original Message----- From: David Fifield [mailto:david () bamsoftware com] Sent: Monday, June 22, 2009 8:12 PM To: Dennis Murray Cc: nmap-dev () insecure org Subject: Re: Nmap 4.85BETA9 on Windows XP - error "Invalid target hostspecification:" On Wed, May 27, 2009 at 12:59:17PM +0200, Dennis Murray wrote:

I cannot reproduce this with Windows XP SP3. Do you have something set in the Windows shell that makes it split arguments on commas?
