Hi,

Do you have any older versions of Nmap (e.g. 4.11) that have been installed
anywhere else on your system? It looks to me like Zenmap is trying to run
nmap, which runs an older version of nmap.exe rather than the correct/latest
version of nmap.exe that's supplied with Zenmap. Try doing a search in Vista
for nmap.exe to see if you have any other versions lying around. If you find
any older versions, you'll need to remove them as (IIRC) nothing before Nmap
4.20 will work on Vista (and I'd recommend using a 4.5x version on Vista
unless you specifically need the first generation database for some reason).

I must admit, I wasn't aware that Zenmap/Nmap came with Metasploit. I
installed Metasploit 3.1 on Vista fairly recently and don't remember seeing
it anywhere. Are you sure you mean Metasploit? There's nothing Nmap related
in my Metasploit\Framework3\tools folder, and a search for zenmap.exe in
"Program Files" only comes up with the version in my Nmap folder.

Rob
