What properities does the languages need?

JAVA

+ Fast development
- Large memory footprint
- Long startup time
- nmap is written in C

C++ and QT4 (all version will be released under the GPL)

Please no Java !
You name the arguments against it
- slow startup
- memory requirements
- not all computers have it installed

I have a machine running from a CF card where I can run xnmapfe from;
